Across the Threshold of Battle

One of the most daring operations of World War 2 was launched in 1943 when Brigadier Orde Wingate led 3,000 British, Gurkha, & Burmese troops & 1,000 mules more than 300 miles deep inside Japanese occupied Burma. They crossed mighty rivers & high mountain ranges, penetrating dense jungle, blowing up railways, ambushing the enemy, facing a savage test of endurance, courage & self-sacrifice.
