From time to time I am contacted by authors or publishers with extended material that might feature on World War II Today. I am always happy to do this if the material is relevant and there is scope to fit it in.
Sometimes really interesting stories appear that do not fit into the time frame of following the war. Either the date has passed or it will not appear for many months or years – it was a long war.
It seems a shame to pass up on really interesting stories and only see them flash by in a day sometime hence. So this section is devoted to ‘featured’ material that includes lengthier extracts about particular events in the war.

I always enjoy seeing photos about WWII. Thanks for posting them with the comments. I did wonder why there were no entries about the fighting going on in North Africa. My father wrote in his diary about his unit of engineers suporting the British IX Corps during March of 1943.
